Junior Software Engineer

Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To: Lead Software Engineer

About TetraVue:

TetraVue has developed a flash LiDAR system that generates full motion, 3D, high definition video with range information for 2 million pixels in each flash. The system, which is ideally suited to meeting the requirements for ADAS, Autonomous driving and other machine vision and robotics applications is accomplished using commercially available, high volume components used in other product areas (e.g. cell phone cameras). 

Founded in 2008, the company demonstrated and developed the technology with funding from the DOE and other government contracts before shifting focus to automotive and other commercial applications last year. Investors include Robert Bosch Venture Capital, Samsung Catalyst Fund, Foxconn and Nautilus Ventures Partners investors.

Job Summary:

The Software Engineer is responsible for the development and implementation of software that acquires, processes, and displays 3D data from TetraVue’s LiDAR system.

Principal Duties:

  • Port algorithms to work on a GPU
  • Optimize and profile existing GPU based code
  • Maintain and expand Software suite that will be used for demonstration and prototype implementations
  • Interface with different hardware through existing APIs or driver development
  • UI/UX design and implementation
  • Implementing tools for LiDAR system testing
  • Implementing state-of-the-art-techniques to render 3D data

Required Skill and qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Languages and APIs: C/C++, at least one of OpenGL or CUDA
  • Experience working in a Linux environment

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with using OpenGL for texture meshing and surface reconstruction techniques is a plus
  • Experience building Qt apps using QML, C++, and OpenGL or OpenGL ES is a plus
  • Experience in UI design and implementation
  • Comfortable working in a Windows or Linux environment
